Kari Dybdahl

Executive Vice President & Director of operations

Kari Dybdahl started at American Risk Management Resources Network, LLC when she was 19, while going to school full time graduating high honors with a bachelor’s in business administration. She assisted in the placement of environmental insurance for the cleaning and restoration industry, where she learned how to negotiate and design insurance placements. At 20 years old she attended her first industry convention and thrived. Each year after she grew her client base consecutively over 200% earning her the award of top 3rd insurance broker in America by Insurance Business America at the age of 26. By 27 Kari accepted the positions Director of Operations and Executive Vice President. Over the year’s Kari has continued to advance and challenge herself, while keeping her true passion of designing comprehensive insurance programs. Kari currently leads the largest production team at ARMR. Network and assists with the day to day operations of the brokerage firm while getting her master’s in business.

Kari has been recognized as Elite Women in Insurance, Young Gun in Insurance (exceptional insurance professionals under 35), Top Producers, and Hot 100 awards through Insurance Business America.

 

Brad Maurer, CPCU, J.D.

Environmental Insurance Consultant
Brad Maurer is another pioneer in the environmental insurance industry. After his role as a project
environmental scientist for Black & Veatch performing Superfund site investigations under contract with
USEPA Region 3, he joined one of the first groups of environmental underwriters at ECS Underwriting
(now XL/Caitlin). At that time, there were only rudimentary policies with first-party and third-party
insurance contained on separate policy forms.
Started in the environmental risk management business in 1991
  • Managing Underwriter at ECS/XL and founding Underwriting Director at Kemper. Managed underwriting units for the issuance of pollution legal liability, Cost Cap insurance, and lenders environmental liability policies
  • In-house product development counsel involved in drafting environmental insurance policies. Co-author of combined first party/third party pollution legal liability forms, lenders liability policy and remediation stop loss forms
  • In house counsel for a $50MM environmental services firm

Mike Klima, J.D.

Director of Underwriting for SREU

Michael Klima has 16 years of experience within the insurance underwriting and insurance law fields with a focus on environmental insurance. Over his career, he has worked for various companies including AmWins, RPS, Ace (now Chubb), AIG and Rockhill. He obtained his J.D. from Kent College of Law, with certificates in environmental law and international law. He is a licensed attorney in Illinois. Over his career, he has developed numerous new policy forms and has helped negotiate several claim settlements. He also has an undergraduate degree in Risk Management & Insurance from Illinois Wesleyan University.

Lori Waters

Producer

Lori Waters started her career with American Risk Management Resource in October 2010 as an Account Manager.  Within 2 years she became a full-time Environmental Producer and has helped her agents build their knowledge of Environmental Insurance.  Prior to joining American Risk Management, she was a successful residential home builder.  Her knowledge of the construction industry makes her uniquely qualified to understand the risks contractors face with their daily operations.  

Jayden Johnson

Account Executive, CIC, AINS

Jayden found American Risk Management Resources Network, LLC through his sustainable business minor at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. He has been specializing in environmental insurance since 2015. During this time, he managed ARMR Network’s entire franchise book of business. Currently, he is an account executive on Kari Dybdahl’s production team primarily focusing on fire/water restoration contractors, underground storage tanks and commercial properties. His passion is to educate insurance professionals on how pollution and fungi/bacteria exclusions affect their clients.

Nick KohAl

Account Executive

Nick joined American Risk Management Resources after 5 years in the personal lines market. He started as an Account Executive on Kari Dybdahls production team. Nicks primary focus is Environmental Impairment Liability and the ARMR HPR Program. He helps ensure property owners, managers and developers have the proper environmental coverages in place to help minimize their environmental and pollution liability. Nick is a graduate of University of Wisconsin – Platteville with degrees in Criminal Justice and Political Science/Pre-Law and is the chairman of the Madison Ducks Unlimited Committee.

Dustin Helmenstine

Account Manager, CIC, AINS

Dustin Helmenstine joined American Risk Management Resources Network, LLC in 2015. He works as an insurance broker specializing in environmental risk management and insurance. He works on insurance placements ranging from contractor’s pollution liability contractual requirements, to the transfer of contaminated properties and the cleanup of superfund sites. He has provided support in the design of multiple insurance programs.

Dustin is the lead researcher in support of expert witness engagements and risk management consulting projects with project values exceeding $2,000,0000. He has analyzed insurance coverage on over a thousand insurance policies and the financial stability of large, Fortune 500 companies as it pertains to their environmental risk exposures. Past clients include Minnesota’s Department of Commerce, the Michigan Department of Attorney General and Contractor Connections, the largest insurance referral network.

Dustin graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a bachelor’s degree in finance. He has completed his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation,  Associates in General Insurance (AINS) designation and is working towards his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.  He is currently a committee member of the IIAW Emerging Leaders and volunteers his time to the Sons of the American Legion and coaching youth basketball.
