Kari Dybdahl

Executive Vice President & Director of operations

Kari started at American Risk Management Resources Network, LLC when she was 19, while going to school full time graduating high honors with a Bachelors in Business Administration. While working at ARMR and going to school full time she assisted in the placement of environmental insurance for the cleaning and restoration industry, where she learned how to negotiate and design insurance placements. At 20 years old she attended her first industry convention and thrived. Each year after 19 she grew her client base consecutively over 200% earning her the award of top 3rd insurance broker in America in Insurance Business America by the age of 26. Over the year’s Kari has continued to advance and challenge herself, while keeping her true passion of designing comprehensive insurance programs. Kari currently leads a production team and assists with the day to day operations of the brokerage firm.

Kari has been recognized as Elite Women in Insurance, Young Gun in Insurance (exceptional insurance professionals under 35) and Hot 100 awards through Insurance Business America.


Brad Maurer, CPCU, J.D.

Environmental Insurance Consultant
Brad Maurer is another pioneer in the environmental insurance industry. After his role as a project
environmental scientist for Black & Veatch performing Superfund site investigations under contract with
USEPA Region 3, he joined one of the first groups of environmental underwriters at ECS Underwriting
(now XL/Caitlin). At that time, there were only rudimentary policies with first-party and third-party
insurance contained on separate policy forms.
Started in the environmental risk management business in 1991
  • Managing Underwriter at ECS/XL and founding Underwriting Director at Kemper. Managed underwriting units for the issuance of pollution legal liability, Cost Cap insurance, and lenders environmental liability policies
  • In-house product development counsel involved in drafting environmental insurance policies. Co-author of combined first party/third party pollution legal liability forms, lenders liability policy and remediation stop loss forms
  • In house counsel for a $50MM environmental services firm
  • Principal/Executive in developing Brownfield properties where EIL and Cost Cap policies were utilized. Purchased, remediated and sold brownfield properties in NJ, NY, MA and PA

Director of Education & INsurance Broker

Troy has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry.  He has worked in senior management, underwriting, sales/marketing, training/development, and insurance agency owner.  Troy has a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Weber State University and a Masters in Business Administration from Utah State University. 

Troy is active in the insurance industry.  He is currently the CPCU Society President.  He has also served on the CPCU Society’s Budget and Finance Committee, CPCU Society’s Leadership Council, and CPCU Society Annual Meeting Task Force. He is past President of the Utah CPCU Chapter.  Troy has also taught many insurance classes to all levels of participants on a local and national level. . 


Mike Klima, J.D.

Director of Underwriting for SREU

Michael Klima has 16 years of experience within the insurance underwriting and insurance law fields with a focus on environmental insurance. Over his career, he has worked for various companies including AmWins, RPS, Ace (now Chubb), AIG and Rockhill. He obtained his J.D. from Kent College of Law, with certificates in environmental law and international law. He is a licensed attorney in Illinois. Over his career, he has developed numerous new policy forms and has helped negotiate several claim settlements. He also has an undergraduate degree in Risk Management & Insurance from Illinois Wesleyan University.

Lori Waters


Lori Waters started her career with American Risk Management Resource in October 2010 as an Account Manager.  Within 2 years she became a full-time Environmental Producer and has helped her agents build their knowledge of Environmental Insurance.  Prior to joining American Risk Management, she was a successful residential home builder.  Her knowledge of the construction industry makes her uniquely qualified to understand the risks contractors face with their daily operations.  

Jayden Johnson

Account Executive

Jayden found American Risk Management Resources Network, LLC through his sustainable business minor at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. He graduated from UW-L in the spring of 2015 and immediately started working at ARMR Network as an account manager. During this time, he managed ARMR Network’s entire franchise book of business. Currently, he is an account executive on Kari Dybdahl’s production team primarily focusing on fire/water restoration contractors. His passion is to help contractors grow their business while advising them on how to properly manage their risk as a business owner. He also strives to educate insurance agents on how pollution and fungi/bacteria exclusions affect their clients.
